It’s time for Saturday Night Genealogy Fun, courtesy of Randy Seaver at Genea-Musings

Your mission, should you decide to accept it, is to:

1) Write a Genealogy Clerihew (and what is a “clerihew” you ask? See Jim Smith’s post today for more details and his clerihew (briefly, a clerihew is a four-line irregular poem or verse that follows an AABB rhyme scheme. It is named for the birthday of Edmund Clerihew Bentley the inventor, aka writer, aka poet.”). If you’re feeling especially creative, write two or more!

2) Show us your genealogy clerihew in a blog post of your own, in a comment on this blog post, or in a Facebook comment or update. C’mon, dazzle your readers and friends with your poetry and creativeness.

So, not being a poet, I have tried to accomplish this mission to the best of my ability. Here is my entry for tonight:

Forbes, Stevenson, Spangler, Gamble
My how these folks knew how to ramble
From city to city and town to town
I’m slowly but surely, tracking them down!

I know it’s nothing great but I wanted to give it a shot! One things for sure, it’s definitely true. Seems my relatives are spread all over and cover nearly every state in the union!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
