I had mentioned in my Sunday Update that I had some exciting news about my Brown research. Well, that news is even more exciting today! I happened upon a web site last week that had some info on George & Rachel Felton Brown. The exciting thing was that it contained “life”! It talked about what kind of man George was and gave some insight about his wife and children also.
This week I have made “First Contact” with a new cousin! She descends from George & Rachel’s son Jesse. I descend from George & Rachel’s son Elijah. What’s even more exciting is that she lives here in North Carolina. It’s still a 4 hour drive from me but I’m excited about making further contact with her.
I’ve also found a PDF document entitled “The Story Of An Old Hollow Stump – The Beginning Of Us” which talks a little about some of the stories handed down through eight generations of the Brown family. It even contained some pictures of some of these ancestors. The most interesting one is of Cinderilla (Sartor) Brown, my 3rd-great-grandmother.
I’m really excited about this and, of course, when you have all this information coming in it takes center stage above anything else I have going on right now!
I’ll post more soon. I’m still getting all this information put into my database and adding all the sources to each individual!
Here’s hoping everyone has a great weekend.
