PATRICIA ANN SPANGLER, 78, of Kaufman, formerly of Paris, passed from this life Wednesday October 17, 2012 at Texas Health Presbyterian Medical Center of Kaufman. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 20, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Lubbeck officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
Patricia was born February 21, 1934 in Jefferson, a daughter of George Charles and Winnie Ida Stevenson Forbes. She attended public schools in Douglasville, and was of the Baptist faith. She spent her life as a homemaker, lovingly caring for her family. She loved to sew and embroider, and enjoyed a game of Bingo.
On June 12, 1953 Patricia married David Isaac Spangler, in Clarksville. Together they shared some forty-seven years of memories, until his death on April 13, 2000.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George (Timber) Forbes and Calvin Forbes; and by three sisters, Juanita Kirkland, Rae Kessler and Ellen Hansen.
Patricia leaves behind six children, Davelyn Lubbeck and husband Charles, of Kemp, Charles David Spangler and wife Gayla, of Seven Points, Robert Dale Spangler and wife Sissy, of Emory, Susan Kay Pascua and husband Alfred, of Mesquite, Kenneth Wayne Spangler and wife Trina, of New Bern, NC, and Kimberly Dawn Dyck and husband Herman, of Keyes, OK; twenty-one grandchildren, Shannon and Sean Foster, Bridgette Cole, Alisha White, Angela Spangler, Dusty Bryant, Michael Bryant, Scott Meyers, Robert Spangler, Jr., Maria Spangler, Sam Money, Deann West, Star Spangler, Crystal Prater, Candace Baker, Joseph, Jessica and Julia Spangler, Bryce, Courtney and Adrian Dyck; twenty great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Don Forbes and wife Wanda, of Grand Saline; a sister, Winnie Ruth Malley, of Lindale; a sister-in-law, Irene Bennett, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Herman Dyck, Joseph Spangler, Jerry Spangler, Bennie Landers, Gary Landers, and Kenneth Hughes.
Patricia’s family wishes to thank the staff of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital and the staff of Hospice Plus, particularly Tamara and Claudia, for their tender loving care.
