It’s been awful quiet here lately, hasn’t it? 
Just because it’s quiet doesn’t mean there’s nothing happening. I’ve been very busy the last couple of weekends. I guess I should have posted, but, I didn’t.
So, what’s happening? I’m finally sorting things out. Two weekends ago I began unpacking my genealogy material that has been packed for over 2 years. The initial process was basically taking it from one box, sorting by family, then putting it into several other smaller boxes.
This weekend I began the process of taking the last bit of info and putting it into a file box so that I can start putting things into binders next weekend! If you can imagine a stack of papers that was at least 2000 pages or more, then you will understand what I’ve gone through today! It was time consuming, irritating and I had to take several breaks but I eventually went through all of it and sorted it by the four major surnames. I now have 5 empty boxes and it is in file folders and shoe boxes for the time being but at least it is sorted.
How long will it take to finish the next step? I would not be willing to take a chance and say because I have no idea. There is a lot of stuff to sort through! Now I have to break it down by birth, death, marriage, etc…. and also by individual families! It may take another week or so.
As the title of this post says, don’t let the calm lull you to sleep. I know this blog has been pretty dead for a while but get ready. There’s a storm of information that will be hitting soon!
