I recently learned of the death of my Uncle “Bob” Kesler. I’m sorry to admit that with all my moving and everything else that is going on I had lost contact with him and I learned of his death almost 5 months after the fact.
Robert “Bob” Kesler, 84
Tyler, Texas — Robert “Bob” Kesler, 84, passed away on Sept. 13, 2010, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 a.m. to service time Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler, Texas. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pope Cemetery in Marshall under direction of the funeral home.
Kesler was born on June 21, 1926, in Olney, to the late Ernest and Carrie Drew Kesler.
Mr. Kesler was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic church in Tyler for 66 years. He retired from National Homes and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kesler was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Kesler, and a grandson, Stan Hukill.
He is survived by a loving family including three daughters, Mary Hukill and husband Joe, Carolyn Loya and husband Enrique, and Linda Kesler, all of Tyler; son, Robert Kesler of Lufkin; two sisters, Marilyn Schneiter of Denver, Colo., and Martha Blank of Salem, Ill.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kevin Hukill, Tony Hukill, Aaron Loya, Adrian Loya, Michael Kesler, and Brian Kesler.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, from 10 to 11 a.m., one hour prior to the service, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
