I’ve just woke up and have a couple hours before work so I will try to give you a quick update. Most of this information came from my wife when she called to wake me up!
Isaiah’s surgery has been scheduled for this afternoon. It will probably be around 2 or so. They are going to be placing the drainage tube for his spinal fluid at a new location to try to help get rid of this infection he has.
There is some good news today! The doctor says that Isaiah’s brain is starting to pull back to where it should be. It had been pushed to one side of his skull because of the size of the tumor but the swelling is subsiding and his brain is starting to reposition itself as it should be! That is great news.
Isaiah has also been laughing more today and making some sounds like he used to, like “roar” for the tiger and “moo” for the cow! He’s also talking more and saying “Dess” for his Aunt Jessica, “Dulia” for his Aunt Julia and he even says “PaPaw”!
The doctor has also said that as soon as the infection is down enough he will schedule surgery for the permanent shunt so that there will be no need for the hose coming out of his head anymore! That would be very nice!
So, there’s still a lot going on but things are starting to look up somewhat! Thanks for all your prayers and support!
For those who have asked, Isaiah’s favorite characters are Curious George, Dinosaur Train, Disney’s Cars and puppies! Some folks have expressed a desire to send him a card with a character on it! He likes touching the cards and looking at them. I’m not sure about the coloring. He still needs to get some strength back before he can hold his head up but I will let you know about that as soon as I can.
I’ll probably do another update when I get home tonight and let you all know how the surgery went and how Isaiah’s recovery went!
Thank you to everyone for all the prayers!
