This is a picture I found recently of my parents and my Aunt Irene. Pictured from left to right are my aunt – Ora Irene (Spangler) Bennett, my dad – David Isaac Spangler, and my mother – Patricia Ann (Forbes) Spangler. This picture would have probably been taken in the mid-1970s. It is at our old home at 11307 Lyric Lane in Balch Springs, Texas. It had a very big kitchen with tons of cabinet space. Some folks would probably love to have something like that now!
If you look to the left of the picture you might be able to make out my mother’s little whistling water pot. She used it to boil water for her instant coffee. I haven’t seen one of those in a while! Brings back some good memories though!
Unfortunately, this home was tore down a couple of years ago. All there is now is just an empty lot! I sure do miss that place!
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Ken
