For a while I have been telling you all about our delimma about moving to North Carolina. In my last message I actually gave an answer about whether we would move or not but I believe it was just too small a note!
Today, I’m posting about our decision and sharing with you some of our plans.
First off, we WILL be moving to North Carolina. I know it is a big step but we haven’t taken it lightly! We’ve given it a lot of thought and done so many back and forths that we feel seasick! The decision was actually not such a big deal when we put things in perspective.
You see, we had already been talking about moving anyway. We’ve been in Paris, Texas for about 6 years now and we aren’t happy here. It’s been OK as far as work and such but there just isn’t much of anything to do here. Everytime we want to do something we have to drive to Bonham or Sherman or Greenville or Dallas! Our talk was about moving to the Tyler/Longview area but with the birth of our first grandchild the talk changed. I balked at first. I couldn’t imagine moving 1300 miles into a strange part of the country and leaving everything I have ever known (Texas). However, after at least 5 weeks of serious debate about it, I have come to the conclusion that moving to North Carolina is not much different than if we moved to the Tyler/Longview area.
If we moved to Tyler/Longview we would still be in a strange place. I’d have to find a new job and everything would be so different. It’s not much different moving to North Carolina! It’s just a little difference of about 1100 miles!
There’s nothing holding us here in Texas. No mortgages, no family (as I have been disowned by most of my family), not even my job! It seems that lately my job has been going downhill and I am worried about when they will come and tell us that we aren’t needed anymore!
Anyways, I won’t bore you with too many details. I simply wanted to let everyone know that we do have a truck reserved for the 6th of July and will be loading up and heading out that day! We are all excited and can’t wait until that day! Perhaps I may end up closer to some of my geneablogger buddies on the East Coast!
I’ll be working quite a bit of overtime in the near future so I may not post as often. Eventually, I’ll get things rolling like they should!
So, soon it will be goodbye Texas and hello North Carolina!
Have a great week everyone!
