Well, I’m finally getting back to my blogging I hope!
I’ve had lots of stuff going on in the past few months and I’m sure that I will continue to have things happen but I will try to get this blog back up and running as it should be. So, today’s message is about my goals for this year. I’ll try to be realistic.
First off, I would really like to accomplish what I have been trying to do for the last 2 years. I want to try to redo my family tree file and make sure that every source I have is documented. I know it won’t happen overnight but if I plug away at it little by little I hope to make a great stride towards accomplishing that this year.
Next, I would love to be able to finally get my website back in order. I’ve made a lot of change but there is still so much to be done on it. I didn’t know what to expect when I first started the website but it has generated so many leads and so many new connections that it has more than paid for itself. Just think of what could be accomplished if I would get it up-to-date?
I’d also like to take the time to try to actually make some family history this year. I think sometimes we are all so busy trying to discover our past that we lose track of our present. I’ve missed out on some wonderful opportunities in the last couple of years and I want to stop the habit of doing that. Enjoy genealogy but don’t forget to enjoy life also!
Finally, I’d like to begin to look into starting (not finishing) a book. I’ve researched for so long and found out so many interesting tidbits and would love to share it with my family. However, a bunch of papers with names and dates and such isn’t very exciting. A family history book with pictures, stories, and of course names and dates would be a little more worth doing. No, I don’t plan on finishing it this year. Maybe not even next year but I at least want to try to start it. If I could just get an opening chapter done, at least it is started!
So, there you have my goals for the new year. It’s a little late for my favorite blog carnival but at least I have it out there!
Here’s wishing you are all doing well!
