Hi again everyone. I thought I would take a moment and update everyone on how things are going. I’ve been busy, busy, busy lately but I have had lots of fun!
First off, I hope you have noticed that I added a separate page for my Blog Roll. I added in links to blogs that I like to read as often as possible. I’m sure it will grow larger as time goes on.
Next, let me update you on how things are going on my reorganization of my genealogy files. Last night I was able to complete my first binder. Well, I say complete but the fact is that all of the files are in it but I still need to do a Table of Contents and get some dividers to separate the famillies. But hey, one binder down is a good feeling.
On the web site front, I have made a lot of progress in getting some of my files moved over to my new domain. I can now pull up some of my info and some of the links are working but I still have to do a lot of rewriting on the HTML. Overall, I am pleased with the progress I have made. I know it might take a while to get everything up and running but hey, this is a website that has been in operation for 3 years and I am adding a completely new side of my family to it. It should take a while!
I also have located, under the stack of papers on my desk, some information that I received almost a month ago that I had thought was lost. It is mainly concerning Frank Forbes, the nephew of my 2nd-great-grandfather. I really enjoy branching out because I am always fascinated at what you can find. I discovered that Frank was a prominent dentist in Horicon, Wisconsin and that his wife, Elvie, was a teacher at the High School. This was in the early 1900s and it is pretty interesting. I will post some of this info soon!
So, as you see, I have been busy but I have been able to get a lot accomplished. Persistence is what matters. Hopefully the finished product of my hard work will be worth it all!
