Your Writing Persona: Who Are You?

I read an interesting article while scanning through some blogs yesterday. It is interesting because I never thought about this subject!

Do you know who you are when you are blogging? Who is the character you present to the world through your blog? Does your writing clearly speak for that character?

After reading the article I began to think about who I am. Am I an expert? I hardly think so. There are a lot of things that I think I am pretty good at, but I am not expert at anything!
Do I write as a student, learning as I blog? This might fit me. I definitely will learn more as I continue with this blog. I also hope to attract more folks who are eager to learn and not expect me to know everything.
Of course, I have to stop and think about why I am blogging. I’m not here to become the world’s greatest blog writer. I am doing this as a way of writing down my thoughts. As you may have noticed, some days I may just post a funny story. On other days, I may post some serious news and I know that on other days I will post something that has to do with what is going on in my personal life.
So, who will want to read my blog? As of now, probably no one is reading it! :-) I am content to know that I am only doing this for the same reason that I do my genealogy website, I want to contact other people with the same research interests as me. That’s it! I’m not here to win awards or to become the most read blog. I am here to express what I feel I need to express. To add a little more to my website and to, hopefully, make contact with others who are researching my lines.
So, that’s who I am! I am a fairly balanced genealogist who publishes a website and has added a blog so that folks who visit can get to know me a little better. You’ll see my funny side, you’ll see my dark side and every now and then you may get a glimpse of my serious side. Be assured, you will always get ME! That’s it.
Enjoy your day!
