About This Site

This site is dedicated to showcasing my genealogy research. My maternal granparents were George Charles Forbes and Winnie Ida Stevenson. My paternal grandparents were David Franklin Spangler and Ora Elizabeth Gamble. I've collected quite a bit of information on both sides and hope to create more connections through this site. It's always nice to be able to find new cousins!

I believe strongly in protecting the privacy of my living relatives. I would hope that you would feel the same. In order to keep their privacy, I have included only the names of the living relatives. There are no birthdates, marriage dates, etc... In some cases, I have just replaced the first name with "Living" to respect the wishes of whoever decides they don't want their name to be displayed. Instead of using the general rule adopted by most sites which uses 1920 as the year to start protecting, I have decided to protect any living individual. Anyone who is still alive will be protected. If they have passed on, their information will be included but only that which will not harm their living spouse or children.

Use the menu to the left for a starting point. I will provide alternate menus as the pages begin to go into different surnames. I'm always open to any suggestions to improve navigation of my site. Contact me with your suggestions. Click here for help with the navigation.

If you have need of copies of any of the info that I have, just ask and I will gladly send it. The whole purpose of this site is to seek new contacts and new information. Please take your time, explore and enjoy the site. You never know when you might just run across an answer to that brick wall that you have been banging your head against! :-)

Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Tools Used To Create This Site

WordPress Blogging Software - This is a fairly new tool for me but it has been very easy to get set up and going. If you want to see it in action just check out my blog. The best thing about it, it's free!

Web Album Generator - I used this nifty little program to create my photo albums in the "Family Lounge"!

HTML Calendar Maker Pro - This program is very helpful in creating my monthly calendars used in the "Family Lounge"!

GedPage - This program was so essential in making this site easy to create. It takes your GeDCom file and creates web pages from it! I would be lost without this!

HTML Color Picker - This tool wasn't necessary for the site but it has come in handy many times when I need to know the correct RGB or HTML code formats for a certain color!

W3Schools Online Web Tutorials - Not a program but this site was very useful when I decided to change my layout to a CSS and XHTML based site. If you are interested in learning how to write a web page, this is the site to go to!

- Last but not least, where would I be without good ol' Notepad? I prefer to edit my pages and personalize them as much as possible and this is the program I use. The other programs generate an HTML document and I use Notepad to do my tweaking!
