It’s been quite here for the past week! This was mostly due to my battle with cedar fever throughout the first part of the week. That doesn’t mean I wasn’t able to accomplish anything this week, though!
I’ve been working on getting all my digital sources organized and I am also trying to make sure I source my “new” tree as I go along. While I am doing all of this, I am also trying to make sure I take the time to update my Find-A-Grave memorials. Though it may not sound like a lot, I was able to get the nine children of my maternal-grandfather sourced, organized and updated. This also includes spouses! I’m excited at the small steps I’ve been able to take toward getting organized.
One nice thing I discovered this weekend was a few new birth certificates using the Texas Birth Certificates, 1903-1935 database at Family Search. I was able to find certificates for my two uncles, George Jr. and Calvin Forbes and for one of their spouses, Dorothy May Waugh. It’s nice to be able to discover these new sources!
One last item to add is that I have now started a new project. I am attempting to start organizing my pictures on my computer. I know I have well over 10,000 pictures to sort through and it seems that they just continue to grow. My first step was to move all my pictures into one “Sorting” folder and from there I am attempting to divide them up by surname. I’m really not sure how long this will take but I am excited to get it done, even if it takes me 6 months!
So, there you have it! It’s not been an overwhelmingly productive week but it has been productive. Every little bit helps out and I am sure that with every little step I am getting closer to realizing my goal of organization.
I don’t know what this coming week will hold for me but I will definitely be back with another update next Sunday. Until then, have a great week and good luck in your searches!
